Well, September has come to a close, and October is already upon us. October: the month of Halloween shenanigans, pumpkin spice lattes, crunching leaves, and autumn breezes spiked with a chill. There are so many things to appreciate about this season, but perhaps none as important as Breast Cancer Awareness month. With the Susan G. Komen 5k Race for the Cure taking place this weekend and the NFL supporting the effort with “A Crucial Catch,” there are now so many ways that we can do our little part to make a big difference.
And SLATE is eager to contribute to the effort as well. Last October’s featured artist and local radiologist, Michelle Rivera, donated 10% of all her art sales to the Susan G. Komen foundation. This year, several merchants will join the effort in addition to Michelle. On top of which, 10% of sales from all pink items in the store will be donated.
